Janet Sunkin worked for nearly 40 years for Jewish Family Service in a multitude of ways. From volunteer to social worker to the President/CEO, Janet’s life work was committed to our beloved agency. During her tenure at JFS, the agency evolved from an organization whose core competency was clinical counseling to one that evolved to serve diverse populations with a focus on those whose lives have been impacted by urban and suburban poverty.

As we mourn the loss of an extraordinary woman, let us carry Janet’s memory with each step and let us recognize the strength it provides for the comfort we all glean from this woman who will be so very missed.
